FAS in OCCP

2006-12-12

On 11 December 2006 the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (OCCP) hosted two delegates of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Federation of Russia. During the study visit the Russian officials were presented with the history, organisational structure and the scope of competence of the OCCP, as well as with examples of proceedings carried out by the Polish competition protection authority in 2005 and 2006. The delegates took special interest in the educational campaigns promoting competition, which is one of the most vital tools of consumer protection.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service is the OCCP’s counterpart in Russia. Its responsibilities include counteracting practices limiting competition and control of market concentration. The visit was held on the basis of the Programme on co-operation for 2006-2007.
